
A South Knoxville gas station turned into a homicide scene late Saturday when a man was shot and killed outside the Exxon on Chapman Highway just before 10 p.m., authorities said. Deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office later took a suspect into custody after what they described as a brief standoff. The victim, an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies were called to the Exxon on Chapman Highway in south Knox County shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found an adult man who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene, then transported to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for examination and autopsy, according to WBIR.
