Officers rushed to the scene, rendered aid and stayed with the victim until medics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to WSB-TV, officers were called to Powder Springs Park around 9:22 p.m. Sunday and found the man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Officers immediately began CPR before paramedics took over and transported him to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead there at approximately 10:01 p.m., the station reported.

WSB-TV reports that investigators are searching for an unidentified woman believed to be the shooter. She remains on the run. Police say that, as of now, they have not established any relationship between the victim and the suspect.
