Speed and safety on local roads
Speeding regularly shows up in fatal crash reports, and motorcycles are hit especially hard. Regional safety data indicate motorcycle collisions are more likely than other crashes to result in serious injury or death. As outlined by the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization, Vision Zero analyses based on MassDOT's IMPACT crash data find that motorcycles account for a relatively small share of total crashes but a much larger share of fatal and serious-injury collisions, a pattern that makes high-speed impacts particularly dangerous for riders.
Investigation underway
Boston 25 News reports the crash involved two other vehicles and that investigators are continuing to piece together what happened. The Grafton Police Department website lists phone numbers and procedures for submitting crash reports or tips for anyone who may have information or dash-cam footage related to the incident.
