What’s Coming To Kann

According to KOIN, Atomix will step into Kann’s main dining room with a multi-course tasting menu, while Naro will handle a family-style service in the private dining room. Atoboy, meanwhile, is slated to run a high-energy, Caribbean- and Korean-influenced barbecue service from April 3 through April 5 that will not require reservations. KOIN also reports that reservations for the Atomix and Naro experiences are already sold out on Resy, though diners can still sign up for notifications if seats open up.

Names And Credentials

Atomix is among the U.S. restaurants highlighted by the MICHELIN Guide and has also been recognized on continent-level best-restaurant lists, per The World's 50 Best. The Parks’ broader Na:Eun hospitality group, which includes Atoboy (opened in 2016) and Naro, has helped push Korean cuisine into the national spotlight. Those résumés are a big part of what the Kann team says will make these Portland seatings feel different from a typical guest-chef night.

Kann's Recent Run

Kann has picked up national recognition since opening in 2022 and describes itself as a live-fire Haitian restaurant rooted in Pacific Northwest ingredients, per Kann. The team has also been putting its downstairs bar, Sousòl, to work as a space for guests and pop-ups, including a much talked-about Bryan Furman barbecue residency earlier this year that arrived as a local basement barbecue takeover.

Per KOIN, the Atomix and Naro dinners are fully booked through Resy, while Atoboy’s brief barbecue run will allow walk-in or otherwise non-reserved entry for much of its April stretch. That means Portland diners with flexible schedules still have a decent shot at catching at least one of the services.
