The Gresham Police Department told KATU the collision happened around 6:40 p.m. near Southeast Stark and East Burnside and involved three vehicles. Investigators have not yet said what led up to the crash.
Emergency response and road closures
The Gresham Fire Department and ambulance crews responded, with multiple ambulances on scene, according to FOX 12. Westbound lanes of East Burnside were closed near the intersection while crews worked to clear the wreckage. FOX 12 reported that one person died and three others were injured in the crash.
Transit impact
TriMet told riders on X that MAX Blue Line service was disrupted because of the crash, with shuttle buses covering eastbound trips between East 172nd Avenue and Civic Drive. The agency also said buses would serve westbound riders from Civic Drive to East 162nd Avenue and warned riders to expect delays, KATU reported.
