A man was left fighting for his life after gunfire erupted on the 4800 block of Yale Road in Raleigh on Tuesday evening, according to police. Officers arrived around 5:08 p.m., found the victim with life-threatening wounds, and rushed him to a hospital in critical condition. One person was detained at the scene while detectives collected evidence and knocked on doors in the surrounding blocks.
According to Fox13 Memphis, investigators said the case remains active and urged anyone with information to get in touch with authorities.
Another Yale Road Shooting in a Troubled Stretch
Tuesday’s shooting is the latest incident on Yale Road and in the broader Raleigh neighborhood, which has seen multiple shootings in recent weeks. As reported in coverage of a separate shooting on the 2800 block of Yale Road earlier this month, officers have already been combing the area and asking residents to share any doorbell or dash-cam video that might help them identify suspects.
Police Seeking Tips, Video From Nearby Residents
Authorities are again asking for the public’s help. Police urged anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH or the Memphis Police Department’s non-emergency line. Detectives specifically requested dash-cam or doorbell footage that could help move the investigation forward, according to Fox13 Memphis. Anyone with urgent or real-time information has been reminded to call 911.
