Gunfire shattered a storefront window Saturday during an attempted robbery on the 1300 block of Nacogdoches Road in northeast San Antonio, turning an early evening shift into a crime scene. Two suspects walked into the business, one fired a round through the front glass, and both men bolted before officers got there. No injuries were reported, and police say the investigation is still very much active.
Police response and what they say
San Antonio police say officers were dispatched around 5:03 p.m. after a report of a robbery in progress, according to KENS5. A 40-year-old woman told investigators that two unknown men came into the store and tried to smash a glass display case. When that did not work, one suspect reportedly pulled a gun and fired a single round that blew out the front window. The pair then took off in a black Chevrolet pickup before officers arrived, and no arrests have been reported.
Robbery pattern on Nacogdoches Road
This stretch of Nacogdoches Road has seen other business robberies in recent years. A December 2025 convenience-store holdup on the corridor drew attention, and KSAT reported a July 2024 armed robbery at a Northeast Side dispensary. Police say surveillance video and community tips are often the key to identifying suspects in quick, opportunistic crimes like these.
How to help
The investigation remains active and no arrests have been made, the KENS5 report noted. Anyone with video or information is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department tip line at 210-207-7401 or Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP, both listed on the city's website. Tips can also be submitted through the P3 Tips app for anonymous uploads that investigators can review.
What police are looking for
Investigators are describing the suspects only as two unknown males who fled in a black Chevrolet pickup and are urging anyone with dash-cam footage or nearby surveillance video to come forward. Police ask that tipsters provide time-stamped video or clear images when possible so detectives can follow leads and piece together what happened before and after the shot was fired.
