A Southaven vape shop worker was shoved to the ground and left with minor injuries after a man armed with what police say was a screwdriver tried to rob the business Sunday, then bolted empty-handed toward Swinnea Road. The employee ran from the store as the suspect went behind the counter and chased them toward the street before taking off to the west. Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood and are asking nearby residents and businesses to help identify the man.
According to WREG, Southaven police say the suspect walked into Vaporsmart in the 1000 block of Goodman Road East and tried to open the cash register. When the worker fled, the man followed and pushed the employee to the ground. EMS treated the victim at the scene, and officers told WREG that nothing was taken before the suspect ran off. Investigators say they are actively working to track him down.
