Severna Park’s carb lovers are getting a new hangout this summer, as Paris Baguette moves into Park Plaza at 550 Ritchie Highway. The bakery café has leased 2,889 square feet in the busy center, which is already home to MOM’s Organic Market, Planet Fitness, and Five Below. Franchisee Pratik Patel, who also runs a Paris Baguette in Towson, has signed on the dotted line and is targeting a summer opening, adding fresh fuel to the current bakery-café boom across Anne Arundel County.
Lease details and the deal
According to Continental Realty Corporation, Patel has agreed to a lease for 2,889 square feet in the nearly 185,000-square-foot Park Plaza and plans to be up and running this summer. “Bringing Paris Baguette to Park Plaza adds something special to the center’s mix of dining and everyday destinations while giving the Severna Park community another place to gather,” Kristina O’Keefe, CRC’s senior vice president of retail operations, said in the announcement. The release notes that Paul Weinberg represented the landlord, while John Rosso of Rosso Commercial represented the tenant in the deal.
Menu and local footprint
Paris Baguette’s menu combines classic French-style pastries with an Asian-influenced spread of cakes, croissants, quiches, sandwiches, and a full coffee lineup, as reported by Eye On Annapolis. The Severna Park spot will join the brand’s growing Baltimore-area presence, including Patel’s Towson location and a recently opened café on Riva Road in Annapolis, the outlet notes.
Why Severna Park?
Patel told CRC that his Towson store is outperforming expectations and that Park Plaza’s lineup of tenants and steady traffic made Severna Park a natural next move. The Continental Realty Corporation announcement also points to roughly 125,000 residents and about 45,000 households within a three-mile radius of the center, along with more than 50,000 vehicles passing the site each day, figures that help explain why landlords and food-and-beverage operators are betting on this stretch of Ritchie Highway.
