What started as a heated dispute outside a Walton County home on March 7 quickly turned into a full-on criminal case, with deputies recovering shell casings, a cache of drugs and several hidden firearms before hauling two people off to jail.
Deputies responded after a neighbor reported that a man had threatened someone and fired rounds outside the residence. As investigators combed the area, they said they found spent shell casings and, during a follow-up search, several firearms hidden nearby. The two suspects were taken into custody and now face state charges tied to the shooting and narcotics.
According to WSB-TV, deputies recovered multiple firearms and other contraband while checking the area around the home. The sheriff's office said what began as a dispute call rapidly shifted into a criminal investigation.
"The sheriff’s office said they found 61 pills believed to be Adderall, 78 Xanax pills, six broken Xanax pills, marijuana and cocaine," according to WSB-TV. Deputies also seized the nearby hidden firearms and recovered additional spent shell casings. Investigators arrested Tykee Gibbs and Brianna Williams; Gibbs faces aggravated assault and a range of weapons and drug counts, while Williams is charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Charges and next steps
Gibbs was booked on aggravated assault, reckless conduct, tampering with evidence and possession charges tied to both Schedule II and Schedule IV substances. Williams faces three counts of tampering with evidence and one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Officials did not immediately release bond amounts or court dates for either person. The sheriff's office plans to forward evidence to prosecutors as the case moves through the Walton County court system.
