
Gunfire ripped through a south St. Louis street Sunday afternoon, leaving a man in critical condition and homicide detectives searching for answers.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police District 3 officers were called to the 1100 block of S. 13th Street shortly before 5:30 p.m., where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital and remains in critical condition as the investigation continues.
What Police Said
According to First Alert 4, officers arrived just before 5:30 p.m. and located the wounded man on S. 13th Street. The outlet reports detectives have not yet released any information about a suspect or a possible motive, keeping much of the case under wraps as they work the scene and follow up on leads.
Nearby Fatal Shooting Last Month
Sunday’s violence unfolded only a block from where SLMPD homicide detectives investigated a deadly shooting on Feb. 28 in the 1200 block of S. 13th Street, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said. In that earlier case, a 19-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds and later died. Detectives detained a person for questioning in connection with that shooting.
