An's Gelato is lining up for takeoff at one of Oceanside's most famous addresses, with plans to open an airport-themed scoop shop called an's gate d6 inside the Top Gun House at 250 N. Pacific St., just steps from the pier. The company says the new outpost is scheduled to debut in late spring or early summer 2026 and will move into the cottage that most recently hosted High-Pie. The Top Gun House's exterior will remain unchanged.

The shop is the latest themed stop in a growing constellation of An's locations. Founders Kris Warren, Travis Bailey, David Aguilera, and Jimmy Blalock list the new North County spot on the company's website as opening "this summer, 2026." As detailed on An's Gelato, the brand's lineup already includes its flagship An's Dry Cleaning on Adams Avenue, An's Hatmakers in Del Mar, a presence inside Petco Park and a new Ocean Beach location.

Inside an's gate d6

Inside the cottage, the team plans to recreate the feel of a 1970s-80s U.S. airport, complete with a faux security gate and stanchion lines guiding customers as they order. In keeping with the theme, portion sizes will be sold under cheeky names like "carry on" and "checked bag." Menu details reported by The San Diego Union-Tribune include flavors named for destinations, with a pistachio "Milan" among them, along with seven small-batch flavors that rotate every two to three weeks plus a lighter palate-cleanser.

High-Pie Heads Next Door

High-Pie, which opened in the Top Gun House after the cottage's restoration in 2022, says on its website that its run inside the house is "officially coming to a close" and that it will operate there through January 4 before focusing next door at High/Low. The Top Gun House sits in the beachfront courtyard of the Mission Pacific Hotel, which oversaw the cottage's restoration and relocation, according to a hotel press release on PR Newswire.

Why Oceanside Got The Call

Company leaders told The San Diego Union-Tribune that Oceanside's mix of tourist foot traffic and local culinary energy helped draw them to this landmark spot. CFO Jimmy Blalock is among the leadership overseeing the expansion as the team keeps the business privately held and its growth measured.

A Local Brand With National Cred

An's has earned national attention: local outlets reported that the company's North Park flagship was named the top independent ice cream shop by USA Today's 10Best in both 2024 and 2025. That national recognition, combined with a beachfront location, gives the Oceanside opening extra pull for pier-area foot traffic and summer visitors.
