Phoenix-based restaurant operator TPQ Foods is doubling down on the West Valley, lining up two new concepts, including a fresh face for Goodyear’s buzzy GSQ entertainment district.
One of those projects is Magdaleña, slated to land in GSQ with a projected May 2026 opening, according to project renderings cited in a March 31 report from Phoenix Business Journal. The expansion would add another homegrown player to a part of the Valley that developers have been steadily circling with new dining and entertainment concepts.
Phoenix Business Journal reports that TPQ Foods is preparing to roll out a pair of new restaurant concepts, one in Goodyear and another in Glendale, as part of a broader West Valley push. Renderings for Magdaleña show a modern dining room and again peg the opening for May 2026.
On its own site, TPQ lists brands such as Pa'La Wood-Fired Kitchen and Tortas Paquimé and describes itself as a Phoenix-based restaurant group focused on "culinary innovation, execution and attentive service." That playbook is a strong hint at what Magdaleña and its Glendale sibling might look like once doors finally open, per TPQ Foods.
GSQ district draws restaurants
Goodyear’s GSQ district is being built out as a walkable, mixed-use hub with retail, restaurants and housing in the mix, positioning it to soak up plenty of dinner and weekend traffic. Developers and city boosters have pitched GSQ as a centerpiece for Goodyear’s emerging downtown, making it a natural landing spot for a new full-scale concept like Magdaleña, according to the GSQ property overview from Globe Corp.
As part of the same West Valley strategy, TPQ is also eyeing a separate location in Glendale, though details on that project have not been fully rolled out, per Phoenix Business Journal.
What’s next for West Valley diners
So far, TPQ has not posted full menus, staffing details or hiring timelines for either Magdaleña or the planned Glendale spot, and the company has not announced any public events tied to the openings. For now, curious West Valley diners and job seekers will have to keep refreshing TPQ’s site and watching city permitting records for formal opening dates and job postings, per TPQ Foods.
