Midtown is getting a serious shot of Barcelona flair this spring, as celebrated cocktail bar Paradiso heads to MAD Bar & Lounge for a six-night residency from April 23 to April 28. The pop-up will bring Paradiso’s theatrical, craft-heavy drinks and live music to the space, with a $50 minimum spend and a strict 90-minute seating window in place. Reservations open April 10 on Resy and are expected to disappear quickly.
Paradiso takes over MAD Bar & Lounge
Paradiso will helm the takeover inside MAD Bar & Lounge at 22 E 38th Street, according to Time Out. The visiting team from Barcelona is set to run the show each night from 7 pm to 11 pm during the April 23 to 28 engagement.
What to expect from the drinks
Guests can expect cocktails that “arrive smoking, glowing or hidden inside unexpected vessels,” a signature of Paradiso’s theatrical style highlighted by Time Out. The special menu is built in collaboration with Tequila 1800, and MAD plans to layer in live music throughout the evenings to match the over-the-top presentations.
Reservations, price and logistics
Starting April 10, bookings will be available via Resy, and demand is expected to be high. MAD Bar & Lounge notes that it operates inside the NH Collection Madison Avenue at 22 E 38th Street, and the venue will enforce both the $50 minimum and the 90-minute seating cap for the Paradiso nights. Guests should check the MAD site for contact information and any late-breaking updates.
Why Paradiso matters
Paradiso has earned a global reputation for its inventive cocktails, and it was named the world’s best bar in 2022, according to Bloomberg. This is not the first time the team has taken its show on the road: Paradiso previously mounted a one-night pop-up at Bar Margot in Atlanta in 2024, part of a string of brief, high-profile residencies that bring the bar’s spectacle to different cities, as noted by Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta.
