Commune All Day Cafe, a bright, all-day concept from Commune Hospitality, is getting ready to open in Billerica in early June, promising specialty coffee, eye-catching “cloud drinks” and an all-day menu that stretches from dressed-up toasts to gelato. Founder Sam Patel says the cafe is built around “Coffee. Community. Connection” and is meant to work just as well for a quick grab-and-go run as for lingering afternoons with friends or a laptop.

Commune All Day Cafe is one of several brands under Commune Hospitality, a group that bills its concepts as neighborhood gathering spots with an emphasis on sustainable ingredients and thoughtful design, according to Commune Hospitality. The company’s site names Smiral Patel as founder and CEO and highlights a focus on adaptable, community-oriented spaces.
Menu and beverage program
According to What Now Boston, the coffee program will feature beans from George Howell Coffee, cold brew from Rhode Island’s The Nitro Bar and a premium matcha developed with Ceremony Matcha. The food and drink lineup is described as aiming for “a balance between wellness, flavor, and accessibility,” with signature cloud drinks, smoothies made with real ingredients, cold-pressed juices, açaí bowls and all-day plates that include protein bowls, tacos and sandwiches.
Where it will be and hiring ahead of opening
Commune is preparing to take over a storefront in northwest Billerica, and the brand’s site lists the new spot along with a staff signup and hiring notice at Commune All Day Cafe. The cafe is recruiting baristas, prep cooks, smoothie cooks, shift leaders and other team members through its BentoBox hiring form.
Local partners and what that means
By teaming up with The Nitro Bar, Commune gets access to a nitro cold-brew program from a Rhode Island company that already pours on tap at dozens of restaurants and shops, while Ceremony Matcha supplies an organic ceremonial-grade powder for the matcha lineup. The Nitro Bar’s site notes its multi-location footprint and tap distribution across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, which is expected to help Commune roll out a consistent cold brew program from day one (The Nitro Bar).
