A 20-year-old Terrytown man was arrested Monday and booked into the Jefferson Parish Prison on 28 counts tied to child sexual abuse material involving children under 13. State investigators searched his home after a tip flagged suspected illegal content, and officials say the investigation is still unfolding.
According to WBRZ, agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at the residence of Wilhelm Daniel Molina Flores after receiving a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators say Flores admitted to trading child sexual abuse material, engaging in sexual communications with children under 17 and using platforms including TikTok and Roblox to reach minors. Agents also reported finding additional images and videos of children under 13 on his devices.

“This case is another reminder that predators are using platforms like Roblox and TikTok to target children,” Attorney General Liz Murrill said, as reported by WBRZ. Murrill’s office has been pressing the issue of platform responsibility this year by filing a child-protection lawsuit against Roblox in August that alleges the company failed to prevent predators from exploiting its service, according to the Louisiana Attorney General's Office.

Roblox has pushed back on broad claims that it is a magnet for predators and says it regularly upgrades safety tools while working with law enforcement. In a corporate statement summarized in the company’s response to the state lawsuit, Roblox said it deploys extensive moderation, reports suspected material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and is rolling out additional protections for younger users (Roblox newsroom).

Flores was booked on charges that include possession, distribution and possession with intent to distribute child sexual abuse material. Those offenses are felonies under Louisiana law and can carry lengthy prison terms. Louisiana’s statute on pornography involving juveniles (see R.S. 14:81.1) sets penalties of five to 20 years at hard labor for possession or distribution, with substantially higher mandatory terms when victims are under 13 and authority for the state to seize devices used in committing the crimes.
