Cincinnati police arrested a man on Wednesday after reports that someone had been shot at on Nottingham Road in the Villages at Roll Hill, turning a tense evening into a quick takedown.
Officers initially responded to the area, then returned around 8 p.m. Once back on Nottingham Road, they spotted a person who matched a description captured on security cameras. Police say the man tried to take off, but officers caught him and took him into custody.
Authorities have not released the suspect's identity or confirmed any charges.
How police say they zeroed in on their guy
Investigators say a clear security-camera image helped break the case open. According to WKRC, officers used the footage to develop a solid description of a suspect, then circled back to Nottingham Road around 8 p.m., where they found someone who matched it.
The individual tried to run, but officers caught up and made the arrest, WKRC reports.
Neighborhood on edge after repeated violence
The Villages at Roll Hill and the Nottingham Road corridor have seen multiple shootings in recent years. In May 2025, WCPO reported that a 2-year-old was hospitalized after a shooting on Nottingham Road, a case that led Cincinnati police to publicly address firearm storage.
