A 34-year-old woman is accused of turning a stretch of FM 1960 in north Harris County into a rolling crime spree that left drivers, shoppers and bar patrons rattled. Investigators say she grabbed a running vehicle in a store lot, used the owner's gun to threaten several people and fired shots at more than one spot along roughly a mile and a half of the busy corridor before deputies stopped her and took her into custody. Court records show she now faces multiple felony charges.
According to KTRK/ABC13, court documents identify the suspect as 34-year-old Jaquisha Crawford and say the incident started at an AutoZone near Ella Boulevard. Investigators allege she climbed into a running BMW, took the owner's 9 mm pistol, then came back to demand car keys from others in the lot. When two people refused, Crawford is accused of firing two shots into the air. She then allegedly held a manager at a nearby bar at gunpoint and fired again in a parking lot before deputies tracked down the vehicle and stopped it.
The same stretch of FM 1960 has already been on law enforcement's radar for vehicle-related crime and heavy patrols in recent months. A March felony traffic stop on FM 1960 and an earlier late-night shooting are among the cases that have kept the corridor under close watch.
Charges, Bond and Prior Case
Court records show Crawford is charged with nine offenses tied to Sunday's alleged spree, including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and burglary. Her bond was set at $420,000, and a judge ordered GPS monitoring if she is released. Deputies say they pulled her over at FM 1960 and Cypress Station, where she resisted arrest and allegedly kicked a deputy in the chest. Records also indicate she had been out on parole after a 2023 incident in which she bit and kicked another deputy, according to KTRK/ABC13.
What Investigators Say Happens Next
The Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to calls near Nanes Road just off FM 1960 and coordinated the traffic stop and arrest, according to agency information. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements as prosecutors prepare their filings. Anyone with additional details is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office or their local precinct through the department's public information channels.
