A quiet Sunday morning in Coweta County turned tense when deputies responded to reports of an armed person in a neighborhood near Sandstone Drive and ended up detaining two people.
Deputies arrived around 10:30 a.m. and confronted an uncooperative person armed with a rifle, according to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. That individual was quickly taken into custody, and a second person at an associated residence was later detained.
As reported by Atlanta News First, investigators searching the home found bullet holes throughout the residence that appeared to have been fired in the direction of nearby houses. Despite the alarming scene, deputies did not locate any victims or evidence that anyone had been hit.
Authorities also reported finding drugs and alcohol inside the home, and both detained individuals showed signs of impairment at the scene, according to the outlet. The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit is leading the ongoing probe.
