HILLS Properties has started welcoming the first residents to Relay 129, the company's new apartment and townhome community taking shape at the Costco anchored Freedom Pointe site in Liberty Township. The early arrivals are moving into the first completed buildings while leasing and construction continue across the rest of the campus.
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, HILLS recently opened Relay 129's doors to its initial tenants. The outlet had previously described the development as a roughly 402-unit community in a June 24 report from the Cincinnati Business Courier.
What residents will find
Relay 129 combines one to three bedroom apartments with rental townhomes and a slate of amenities that includes a two story clubhouse, rooftop terrace, golf simulator, fitness center, and resort style pool, according to HILLS Properties. The company's listings show townhome floor plans with attached garages and model interiors already available for tours as leasing continues.
Where it sits
The community occupies roughly 19–23 acres at the western edge of Freedom Pointe, right next to Costco and within quick reach of I-75 and State Route 129, according to marketing materials. A brochure from OnSite Retail Group lists Relay 129 as a 402 unit project and notes an “Opening Summer 2026” timeline, while highlighting high traffic counts on Liberty Way and I-75 that help make the site attractive to both retailers and renters.
What it means for the market
For Liberty Township, those first move ins mark another step in the rapid build out of the Freedom Pointe corridor, which has seen big box retail and new housing arrive in recent years. A project update on HILLS Properties notes that Relay 129 broke ground in January 2025 and was expected to begin welcoming residents by summer 2026, underscoring how quickly the developer moved from shovel in the ground to keys in hand.
