Former NASCAR driver Jamie McMurray just took a sizable price cut on his Lake Norman playground, trimming $1 million off the ask for his sprawling Mooresville estate and bringing the list to just under $11 million. The adjustment hit last Tuesday after several months on the market, giving deep-pocketed buyers a slightly closer shot at one of the area’s highest-profile waterfront properties.
The red-brick mansion sits on roughly 33.6 acres and offers nearly 8,800 square feet of living space with private lake access, positioning it firmly in “go-big-or-go-home” territory for Lake Norman luxury shoppers hunting large, secluded parcels.
McMurray first floated the property at $12 million in August 2025, according to Axios Charlotte. That debut listing spotlighted the gated drive, four-car garage and grounds that run all the way down to the water, features that helped make the estate instant eye candy on the local luxury circuit.
Details compiled by Mansion Global put the main house at about 8,774 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms, plus a basement wine cellar for anyone who prefers their investments properly bottled. The property also comes with a saltwater pool, a detached pool house and a private dock along Lake Norman. Mansion Global notes that McMurray assembled the 33.6-acre spread through purchases in 2011 and 2015, then completed the red-brick residence in 2015.
The Charlotte Business Journal reported the $1,000,000 price reduction to $10,995,000 after roughly seven months on the market, framing the move as part of a busy season for Lake Norman luxury listings tied to motorsports figures. The outlet noted the new price went live at the end of March.
What’s on the grounds
The estate’s acreage stretches through mostly wooded land down to the shoreline, giving the property both privacy and plenty of room to spread out. As described by Mansion Global, outdoor perks include a stone patio with built-in barbecue, an expansive lawn, the saltwater pool and a private dock for launching straight into Lake Norman.
For anyone with a serious car habit, the four-car garage and gated drive offer practical bonuses that feel right at home for a retired racer.
Lake Norman market snapshot
Mooresville, long nicknamed “Race City U.S.A.”, has racked up a string of high-end listings and sales involving drivers and racing executives in recent months, keeping big Lake Norman parcels firmly in the spotlight. Axios Charlotte has pointed to nearby transactions and listings as part of a broader bump in area luxury inventory, a backdrop that helps explain the sustained attention on McMurray’s estate.
The listing is held by Josh Tucker and Joey Adams of Corcoran HM Properties, whose agent profiles list the Corcoran Lake Norman office as the brokerage for the sale. See agent details on Corcoran for contact information on the listing. With the spring market underway, it would not be surprising to see more movement on this one.
