Himmel Hospitality Group, the locally owned team behind Grill 23, is setting its sights on Boston’s Seaport, with plans to open two new spots at Fan Pier in spring 2027. The pair, Le Boulevard and Bar 23, are pitched as a one-two punch of Parisian flair and steakhouse swagger right on the waterfront.

As first reported by the Boston Business Journal, the company has released early renderings and has been lining up space at Fan Pier. Those images, provided by Rockwell Group according to that report, show the two concepts planned side by side along the edge of the harbor.

Bar 23: A smaller, livelier Grill 23

Bar 23 is described as an intimate, 75-seat offshoot that nods to Grill 23’s classic steak-and-cocktail formula while dialing up the laid-back bar energy. Chef-partner Robert Sisca told the Boston Globe the menu will feature “ice-cold martinis” and what he calls the “steak trinity: Kobe, 100-day ribeye, and dry-aged sirloin.” In other words, the power-steak crowd will not be left wanting.

Le Boulevard: Parisian bistro with a big patio

Next door, Le Boulevard is slated to be the larger, Parisian-inspired sibling, with about 250 seats and a sizable patio aimed squarely at Seaport’s see-and-be-seen crowd. Sisca told the Boston Globe that the menu will lean hard into bistro classics, including multiple takes on steak frites alongside Dover sole, escargot, and bouillabaisse.

Himmel’s local playbook

Himmel Hospitality Group’s portfolio already includes Grill 23, The Banks, Bistro du Midi, and Harvest, and the company has built its reputation on high-end dining and full-service hospitality. Those concepts and contact details are laid out on the Himmel Hospitality Group site, which also frames the Seaport projects as part of a broader push into Boston’s waterfront dining circuit.

Seaport context and what’s next

The Seaport has become a magnet for splashy openings and out-of-town steakhouse imports, a trend tracked in coverage of arrivals like Hawksmoor, as noted by Boston Magazine. Himmel’s expansion gives the neighborhood another locally owned player in that mix, with both Le Boulevard and Bar 23 expected to join the Seaport roster in spring 2027.
