Glendale police are investigating a shooting reported Thursday near State Farm Stadium, in the busy area around 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way not far from the Westgate entertainment district.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, officers were called to the scene and investigators were on site. The station's video report identified the intersection near the stadium and noted that details were limited as authorities processed the area.
Stadium area and crowding
State Farm Stadium, located at 1 Cardinals Drive, is one of the Valley's largest event venues and regularly hosts NFL games and concerts, according to State Farm Stadium.
The nearby Westgate Entertainment District includes restaurants, bars and hotels that serve stadium crowds and can bring heavy foot and vehicle traffic to 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way on event nights.
