A Monday shooting at a Fort Mill nightlife spot left one person wounded and sent to the hospital, according to deputies. The gunfire broke out at Blue Olive Lounge in the Crossroads Plaza shopping center, where York County deputies found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities said the injured person was taken to a hospital in Rock Hill.
According to WCNC, deputies responding to the scene confirmed the victim had been shot, citing the sheriff’s incident report. Reporter Anders J. Hare noted that investigators remained on site, collecting evidence and processing the scene. Officials did not immediately release the victim’s name or share any additional information about possible suspects.
Public records paint Blue Olive Lounge as a neighborhood nightlife fixture for Fort Mill and nearby Tega Cay. State public-health and local business listings identify the venue at Crossroads Plaza, and a South Carolina DHEC inspection report confirms its location there. Mapping and directory sites describe the spot as a late-night cocktail lounge frequented by local residents.
Investigation Underway
The York County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation, and deputies told reporters they were processing evidence and following up on leads. As of the latest update from WCNC, investigators had not announced any arrests or identified a motive in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the York County Sheriff's Office.
Late-Night Violence Raises Concerns
The Fort Mill incident comes on the heels of other late-night violence at bars in the Upstate, adding to growing concern over safety at nightlife venues. In one recent case, deputies reported an April 5 shooting outside Pregame Lounge in Spartanburg County that left one person dead and two others injured, according to WMBF.
York County deputies have not released the name of the victim in the Blue Olive Lounge shooting and said they will share more details as the investigation moves forward. Anyone with tips about Monday’s incident can call the York County Sheriff's Office at 803-628-3059 or visit the agency’s website for additional information.
