What started as a late-night trip home turned into a terrifying holdup for one Atlanta man, after police say three men tailed him back to his southwest Atlanta apartment and robbed him at gunpoint.

The robbery happened just after 1 a.m. on March 21 at an apartment complex on Oglethorpe Avenue SW, according to Atlanta police. Investigators say three men followed the victim into the building, pulled out a gun and took his phone and cash before taking off. Detectives have released photos and video of the suspects and are asking the public to help put names to the faces.

As reported by WSBTV, officers arrived at the complex shortly after 1 a.m. and learned the suspects had trailed the victim to his apartment building before confronting him. Surveillance images and video of the trio have since been circulated to jump-start tips.

Police Release Video, Ask For Tips

Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the men to contact Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta. Tips can be shared anonymously by calling 404-577-8477, using the P3 Tips app, or submitting information online, according to the Atlanta Police Foundation. Neighbors Asked To Check Cameras

Detectives are also asking nearby residents and businesses to hang on to any doorbell, security or surveillance footage from around the time of the robbery, in case it captured the suspects coming or going from the area. The plea comes amid a run of violent incidents in southwest Atlanta in recent weeks, and officers have been canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and additional video.
