Mid-morning gunfire in Cincinnati's Westwood neighborhood has police searching for a suspect and neighbors on alert after a man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound late Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the hospital around 11:15 a.m., where they spoke with the victim, who told investigators he had been shot in the 3000 block of McHenry Avenue. Police said the victim was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. The suspect is believed to be a Black male dressed entirely in black, and the case remains under active investigation.

According to WLWT, officers first got involved when the victim turned up at the hospital shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday. He reported being shot on McHenry Avenue, in the 3000 block, before making it to medical help. Police told the outlet the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening and said they are processing the reported shooting scene and talking with potential witnesses.

The latest shooting comes just one day after a separate, deadly incident in Westwood that left a 17-year-old dead, as reported by WCPO. In recent coverage, local outlets have pointed to multiple shootings across the Tri-State in a matter of days and have highlighted calls from community leaders for more youth programs and designated “safe spaces” along corridors such as McHenry Avenue in hopes of curbing the violence.
