A domestic dispute on Pittsburgh’s Glen Hazel hillside turned into a homicide scene Friday morning, after a man was fatally stabbed on Roselle Court, according to police. Officers were called to the 900 block and found an adult man with a stab wound to the upper left side of his chest. He was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Police say a woman was taken to headquarters for questioning, and detectives from the city’s Violent Crime Unit are now leading the case. No arrests have been announced.
What happened at the scene
Pittsburgh police said first responders were dispatched to the 900 block of Roselle Court around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a domestic altercation that escalated into a stabbing, according to WPXI. Officers found the man with a stab wound to the upper left chest and began first aid until medics arrived. He was taken to the hospital in what doctors described as “grave condition” and was pronounced dead a short time later, CBS Pittsburgh reported.
Police investigation
A woman connected to the incident was taken to police headquarters for questioning, though no one has been charged, WTAE reported. The Mobile Crime Unit was called in to document and collect evidence at the scene, while Violent Crime Unit detectives handled the follow-up. Officials have released a few additional details and are asking anyone with information to come forward and speak with investigators.
Neighborhood context
The killing adds to a run of serious assaults reported in and around Glen Hazel in recent months. A September 2025 stabbing in the neighborhood left one person hospitalized and another in custody. The city’s public safety blotter shows the Mobile Crime Unit and Violent Crime Unit are routinely dispatched to major assaults and homicides across Pittsburgh, underscoring how these units typically handle high-level investigations, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
What comes next
Detectives are expected to keep processing the scene, reviewing any available surveillance footage, and interviewing potential witnesses as the investigation moves forward. Authorities have not released the victim’s name, and CBS Pittsburgh noted that police have not provided further details on what led up to the deadly confrontation. Anyone with information about the stabbing is urged to contact Pittsburgh police.
