What started as a late-night police chase in northeast Oklahoma City ended with a wrecked vehicle, a foot race, and three people in handcuffs just after midnight.
According to KOCO 5, the pursuit began around midnight and raced through multiple intersections as the driver ran several red lights. The chase came to a crashing halt near Northeast 122nd Street and the Broadway Extension, where the occupants bailed out and tried to run before officers caught up with them.
KOCO 5 crews at the scene reported seeing at least five police units responding. Officers also rolled out canines and an aerial drone to hunt for the fleeing suspects in the dark.

Officers told KOCO 5 that all three people who ran from the crashed vehicle were eventually taken into custody. Police said, "Information about the suspects or why the chase happened has not been released," leaving key details about the incident under wraps while investigators sort through the aftermath.
As of early morning, officials had not publicly released the names of those arrested or the specific charges they may face, and officers were still working the scene and processing evidence.
How This Fits a Pattern in the Metro
High-speed chases that turn into crash scenes and foot pursuits are becoming an all-too-familiar storyline across the Oklahoma City metro. In a similar overnight incident in April 2025, a vehicle crashed in southwest Oklahoma City after a police pursuit, and three juveniles were arrested, according to News On 6. Incidents like these underline how quickly a routine traffic stop or patrol encounter can spiral into a dangerous situation for drivers, passengers, and anyone nearby.
Police continued working the latest crash site into the morning as crews moved to clear the roadway. The Oklahoma City Police Department had not released any additional information about the suspects or what triggered the pursuit.
