
Just after midnight, a violent robbery on Mermaid Avenue at West 21st Street in Coney Island left a 49-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman with stab and cut wounds, according to police. Both were taken to NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn, where authorities say they are expected to recover.

As reported by News12, four people approached the pair, punched them and then slashed the woman in the torso and stabbed the man in the back before stealing his wallet.
