One Georgia lottery player matched all five white balls to win $1,000,000, joining a surge of high-dollar winners from the same drawing. The pull also produced two jackpot-winning tickets that split an advertised $143 million top prize, and nearly 90 tickets nationwide scored prizes of seven figures or more. State officials say they have not yet released where the $1 million ticket was purchased in Georgia.
Numbers, payouts and where the jackpot landed
According to Powerball, the winning numbers were 3, 19, 35, 51 and 67 with Powerball 15 and a Power Play of 2x. The draw carried an advertised jackpot of $143 million with a cash option of about $65.2 million.
Powerball lists 62 Match-5 tickets that each win $1 million plus 27 Match-5-with-Power-Play tickets worth $2 million. The official results identify the two grand-prize tickets as sold in Kansas and Indiana.
Georgia winners and the missing retailer info
As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, one Georgia player matched the five white balls to win $1,000,000, and two other Georgia players each won $50,000. FOX 5 notes the Georgia Lottery and Powerball have not yet identified the retailer or county tied to the million-dollar ticket.
The station's roundup says winners were spread across at least 20 states, with Georgia among the places where the midweek drawing hit especially hard.
How to claim in Georgia
Prizes must be claimed in the state where a ticket was purchased, and Georgia winners of amounts above $601 must file a claim with the Georgia Lottery Corporation, per the state's instructions. The Georgia Lottery "How to Claim" guidance says online-ticket winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize, and that large prizes can require additional verification.
For prizes of $500,000 or more, the lottery generally processes payment within roughly 5 to 10 business days after a claim is completed, so million-dollar winners should not expect the money to hit instantly.
Next draw and what winners should do now
The jackpot resets to an estimated $20 million for the next drawing on May 2, according to reporting by FOX 5 Atlanta.
