Somebody who stopped for gas and a quick ticket in Nokomis just turned a routine errand into a six-figure score.
A single Fantasy 5 ticket sold at a Shell convenience store on Knights Trail Road in Nokomis, Sarasota County, matched every number in Saturday night’s drawing, making the buyer the lone jackpot winner and netting $126,700. The winning sequence: 1, 10, 13, 16 and 18.
The Florida Fantasy 5 results page lists one evening jackpot winner for the April 25 drawing and a payout of $126,700.41, confirming that combination of numbers, according to Fantasy‑5. Local coverage identified the Shell on Knights Trail Road as the retailer where the winning ticket was sold and noted upcoming draws with larger pots for those keeping an eye on the numbers, as reported by the Miami Herald.
How to claim the prize
Per the Florida Lottery’s Winner’s Guide, FANTASY 5 prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at a Florida Lottery district office or at headquarters. Winners can claim in person, by appointment, or by mail, and draw-game prizes must be filed within 180 days of the drawing. The Lottery lists its Claims Processing office at 250 Marriott Drive in Tallahassee and provides the forms and ID requirements winners must bring when filing a claim, according to the Florida Lottery's guidance.
The Lottery also recommends that winners sign the back of the ticket and keep copies of all claim documents as basic precautions to protect the prize.
Big jackpots keep rolling
While one Floridian quietly walked off with a tidy Fantasy 5 haul, the bigger headline numbers are still climbing. Powerball’s advertised jackpot is estimated at $130 million for Monday’s drawing, according to Powerball.
Closer to home, Florida Lotto is estimated at about $19 million for the Wednesday drawing, keeping plenty of high-dollar action on the calendar this week, as noted by the Miami Herald.
