
A night out in Parkland turned violent on April 26 when a 38-year-old man was stabbed outside La Perla Del Mar and left in critical condition, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies rushed in to give first aid while waiting for Tacoma Fire Department medics, and a suspect who initially took off from the scene was later tracked down at a nearby apartment complex. What deputies say
In a brief video and statement on Facebook, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the La Perla Del Mar restaurant on Steele Street South around 7 p.m. on April 26. They arrived to find a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and began life-saving measures until fire medics could take over. The office reports that the victim remains in critical condition.
Deputies say a suspect ran from the scene but was later found and arrested. The sheriff’s office says the 35-year-old man was booked into the Pierce County Jail on counts that include felony harassment, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Arrest at apartment complex
After the suspect fled the restaurant area, deputies say they tracked him to the Ellyson Apartment Homes complex on 104th Street South. There, according to the sheriff’s office, they found a loaded handgun in his right pocket and a small bag of methamphetamine in his left. The apartment community lists its address as 2201 104th Street South.
Deputies report that the firearm and narcotics were seized as evidence and that the suspect was booked on the charges described above. Ellyson Apartment Homes

Detectives with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office are still piecing together what led up to the stabbing and are asking anyone with information or video of the incident to come forward.
