Six years after 51-year-old Sharon Selman was gunned down outside her Pflugerville apartment, her family and local police are once again asking the community to help catch her killer. On Tuesday, Pflugerville police joined Selman's relatives in renewing their public appeal and announced that the family has pulled together a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person responsible. Investigators say a fresh composite sketch and renewed attention could finally bring in the tip that breaks the case.
In a post on X, the Pflugerville Police Department shared the new composite sketch and asked anyone who recognizes the person to call Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477, submit a tip online, or email [email protected], according to Pflugerville Police. The post also reminds residents that the department's social media accounts are not monitored around the clock and directs people to call 512-990-6700 or 911 for emergencies.

The case so far
Investigators say Selman was found with gunshot wounds on March 31, 2020, in the 1200 block of Town Center Drive outside the Century Stone Hill South Apartments and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect in surveillance images and sketches has been described as a Black male about 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds, last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, gloves and a mask. Despite earlier sketches and public appeals, no arrest has been announced, according to FOX 7 Austin.
Family plea and reward
Selman's daughter, Lakeshia Craft, has repeatedly urged neighbors and anyone who was in the area that night to speak up, recalling that her mother "always thought Pflugerville was such a safe place," as captured in earlier coverage. The family has organized a fund and set a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest, a push that complements Crime Stoppers' own reward offering, Community Impact reported.
How to submit tips
Anyone with information is asked to call Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477, use the Crime Stoppers online form, or email [email protected]. As the department has stressed, residents should not use its social media accounts for emergencies. The City of Austin notes that tipsters can remain anonymous and that Crime Stoppers may offer up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest, according to City of Austin.
The renewed social media push on the anniversary underscores how cold cases can stay active for years as families and local outlets keep steady pressure on investigators. Local reporting on previous appeals can be found in coverage of earlier calls for leads.
