A pre-dawn fight on a Little Woods block of New Orleans East turned deadly early Saturday, leaving a man dead and one person detained as police try to piece together what happened.
What police said
According to reporting by NOLA, officers were called shortly before 5:30 a.m. to the 6400 block of Wales Street after reports of a physical fight. Police told the outlet that the man involved was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 8 a.m. One person was detained at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
