Atlanta police were called to 527 Lindsay St. NW at about 4 a.m., where they found the wounded teenager and rushed him to a nearby hospital, according to Atlanta News First. Investigators believe the boy was actually shot at 550 Lindsay St. NW, the address of Lindsay Street Baptist Church, and have not released any suspect information. The outlet notes the case is still developing as detectives chase down leads.

The Bankhead shooting lands on a city already on edge over a string of violent incidents involving minors. Earlier in April, a deadly burst of gunfire at Piedmont Park left a 16-year-old dead and helped spark talk of tougher curfew enforcement, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
