
A man was shot early Wednesday near Danube Lane at the Magnolia Pointe Apartments in north Durham. Officers found the victim at about 2:30 a.m., and he was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Police say he is expected to recover, and no arrests have been announced.
Scene and investigation
According to WRAL, officers located the man at the Magnolia Pointe complex and confirmed the shooting happened near Danube Lane. WRAL reports the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and that detectives are canvassing the area. Durham police told the outlet they have not made any arrests as the investigation continues.
Danube Lane's recent shootings
The Danube Lane corridor has seen multiple shootings in recent months, heightening concern among residents. Hoodline previously covered a March incident in which a woman walked into an ER after being shot. Local outlets also reported a January 2025 drive by at Magnolia Pointe that killed a 15 year old, underscoring the neighborhood’s recent violence, according to ABC11.
Police ask for tips
Durham police say the investigation remains active and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives. WRAL noted contact numbers and ways to submit tips to Crime Stoppers. Authorities have not released a suspect description and have asked residents to share any community video from the area to help investigators piece together what happened.
