
Police say a Severn woman was asleep in her bedroom when she woke up around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, to find a stranger sexually assaulting her. She screamed, and the attacker bolted from the home. Officers flooded the area and brought in K-9 teams, but the man slipped away.
Police: Where It Happened
The assault was reported inside a home on the 700 block of Old Donaldson Avenue. Officers canvassed the neighborhood on foot and with K-9 units but were unable to track down the suspect, according to WMAR2 News.
Detectives Seek Tips
Detectives are calling the incident "random in nature" and are asking anyone with information to come forward, according to an Anne Arundel County Police press release. Tipsters can contact Western District detectives at 410-222-8760 or use the county's anonymous tip line at 410-222-4700.
