The polished, Art Deco-leaning restaurant will operate inside the Lantern Crest senior-living campus and is pitching itself as East County's answer to a big-city steakhouse, minus the trek downtown. With room for roughly 125 guests and a full bar, the Heritage is positioning itself as both a special-occasion destination and a go-to spot for neighborhood date nights.
According to San Diego Magazine, the Heritage is slated to open to the public on June 30, and will feature tableside classics alongside more modern touches. The publication highlights the sixth-floor setting, panoramic sunset views and seating for about 125, and quotes hospitality consultant Scott Barnett summing up the concept with a simple line: "Steaks are the main event."

The Heritage's own website says the kitchen will focus on USDA Prime, Certified Angus and Wagyu steaks, all aged a minimum of 28 days, with desserts made in-house daily. Inside the roughly 4,000-square-foot space, designers are leaning into dark wood, gold accents and custom silhouette art by Nancy Robinson to create a modern spin on a classic New York-style steakhouse. Why it matters for East County
Developer Michael Grant, who also founded Lantern Crest, has said he wanted to bring five-star dining to his hometown area instead of sending residents into La Jolla or downtown whenever a big celebration rolls around. The Heritage is pitched as a spot where milestones can be marked closer to home, with prime aging, tableside touches and a theatrical dining room all designed to keep more of those special nights right in East County.
