St. Charles consulting firm D2 Solutions has bought ProModRx, a Florida-based cloud platform that helps patients get prescription medications faster. The company says the deal will expand its tech muscle in specialty pharmacy and market access and is expected to set off a sizable hiring push in the region.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, D2 expects to roughly double its workforce as it folds the Florida platform into its offerings. The outlet reports the hiring will support product integration and rising client demand for D2’s UltraTouch suite.

What ProModRx Brings To The Table

ProModRx describes itself as a cloud-based patient-access and reimbursement platform that handles patient acquisition, benefits investigation, prior-authorization support, enrollment, claims processing and product distribution across retail and specialty pharmacy networks. Per the ProModRx website, the technology also includes analytics and patient-engagement tools designed to shorten time-to-therapy.

How D2 Plans To Plug In The Tech

In a company release via PR Newswire, D2 said it will integrate ProModRx into its UltraTouch Verify and UltraTouch Engage offerings to extend electronic benefit verification, prior-authorization workflows and multilingual outreach. The release also cited D2 research showing about 21% of adults delay starting a prescribed medication because of confusion or access issues, a gap the company says the combined platform is designed to narrow.

Local Jobs And Regional Footprint

According to D2 Solutions, the firm lists an office in St. Charles and has built out the UltraTouch suite over the past several years. The St. Louis Business Journal reports that ProModRx employees will remain in place and that the acquisition is expected to drive local hiring as D2 scales support and fulfillment operations.

According to the company release, D2 and ProModRx will preview the integration at Asembia’s AXS26 Summit in Las Vegas later this month and will be at Booth #2014. The companies say the combined offering is intended to help clients across retail, hospital, mail-order and specialty pharmacy channels.
