Lightning has struck twice in Tunica's casino country, and both bolts hit the same machine.
Horseshoe Tunica says a Caesars Rewards member walked out with a $1,004,494.62 progressive jackpot last Friday after a single $25 spin on a Dragon Link slot. It is the second million-dollar Dragon Link win at the property in under 30 days.
As WREG reported, the seven-figure payout came on that $25 wager, triggering the linked progressive and sending the total over the $1 million mark. In a statement to WREG, Rob Brown said the casino was "absolutely thrilled to celebrate this incredible $1 million dragon link jackpot with one of our Caesars Rewards members." The outlet noted that the hit followed another seven-figure Dragon Link jackpot at the same casino less than a month earlier.
Dragon Link And High-Limit Progressives
Dragon Link is part of Aristocrat Gaming's linked progressive family, which ties machines together so that one lucky spin can unlock a shared jackpot. High-denomination versions of the game have produced multiple seven-figure wins across the country.
According to PR Newswire, a Dragon Link progressive reached about $2.856 million at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida, setting a record for the game. This spring, casinos in Atlantic City installed Dragon Link configurations with $2 million top progressives, CDC Gaming reported.
What The Wins Mean For Players And The Floor
Casino representatives say million-dollar moments like this are exactly the kind of thing that keeps a gaming floor humming. Big, noisy payouts create instant buzz, send people reaching for their phones, and tend to lure curious players back to the same banks of machines to see if lightning might strike again.
WREG noted that the latest Horseshoe Tunica winner is a Caesars Rewards member, though the casino did not release the player's name. For Tunica's cluster of casinos, repeat million-dollar headlines help market the region as a gambling destination and can give weekend traffic a noticeable lift, especially on the slot side of the floor.
