
A quiet Saturday evening in west Metairie turned tense when a two-alarm fire broke out in the 4800 block of Church Street around 7:50 p.m., drawing a heavy response from the East Bank Consolidated Fire Department.
Crews moved in quickly to tackle the blaze, and the initial call was soon upgraded to a two-alarm response as additional units were sent in to help contain the fire.
According to WWL-TV, firefighters were working in the 4800 block of Church Street while staging resources near Clearview Parkway and West Metairie Avenue. The station reported that extra engines and ladder trucks were dispatched to the scene as crews worked to get the flames under control.
