An afternoon burst of gunfire on a Vallejo cul-de-sac on April 4 spiraled into a high-speed chase, a mangled utility pole and one suspect in custody, according to police. Around 2:04 PM, a resident on the 200 block of Cadloni Lane told officers he heard shots outside, retreated indoors and called 911 after three men approached and demanded he apologize to a friend.
Witnesses reported hearing additional gunfire and seeing the trio run off. One of the men was then seen getting into a brown Honda that matched the description broadcast to officers. Police say the driver took off and ultimately collided with a utility pole near Alameda Street and Springs Road. Officers later reported finding an unserialized, loaded handgun on the front passenger floorboard.
How Police Say The Chase Unfolded
According to the Vallejo Police Department, Patrol Division officers were dispatched to Cadloni Lane after the initial shots-fired report. Once in the area, officers located a vehicle that they say matched the description provided by witnesses and tried to pull it over. When the driver allegedly refused to stop, officers initiated a pursuit.
Police say the driver was detained after exiting the crashed Honda, and the vehicle was towed from the scene as evidence. No additional arrests were announced in connection with the incident.
Arrest, Hospital Stop And Gun Seizure
Per the Vallejo Police Department, investigators located a loaded unserialized firearm on the front passenger floorboard of the Honda and booked the weapon into evidence. The department says the suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance following the crash, then booked into Solano County Jail on multiple allegations tied to firearm possession and evading officers.
Department records checks, according to the post, indicated the suspect is a Sacramento resident and is under the legal age to possess the firearm that was recovered.
String Of Chases Highlights Community Risk
The April 4 pursuit is one of several recent cases in Solano County involving police chases that ended with seized weapons, part of a broader pattern noted in earlier reporting on a dead-end Vallejo chase that netted three loaded guns. Other incidents have featured suspects tossing firearms mid-chase, a tactic that raises obvious risks for nearby residents and officers, according to KTVU.
Calls-for-service aggregators show multiple shots-fired reports in Vallejo in the same general time frame, including the Cadloni Lane call logged on April 4, per local listings.
What Comes Next
Police say investigators are still processing the Honda and the recovered firearm as part of the case file. As in similar incidents, prosecutors in Solano County are expected to review the findings to decide what, if any, formal charges will be filed.
Vallejo police have again asked anyone with surveillance footage, phone video or information tied to the Cadloni Lane shooting or subsequent chase to contact the department so detectives can follow up on potential leads.
