Officers arrived around 2:18 a.m. and found Smith lying on the kitchen floor with several gunshot wounds, and the suspected shooter was taken into custody at the scene.
Police later identified the suspect as 32-year-old Jeffrey Glen Brownlee of Douglasville and charged him with malice murder, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
