Cincinnati police are searching for a woman they say used her car as a weapon in Avondale earlier this month, slamming into a man and then spraying mace on another person. The man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, and investigators say tracking down the suspect is a top priority.
Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Crime Stoppers has released a photo identifying the suspect as Raniya Delaney, who was last known to live in Clifton, according to Crime Stoppers. Anyone with information is asked to call the tipline at 513-352-3040 or submit a tip through the organization’s online form.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, the incident happened on May 2 along Alaska Avenue just south of Forest Park Drive. Investigators allege Delaney drove into a man and then sprayed mace on a woman, as reported by WLWT. Police say the male victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities have not announced any charges while the search continues.
Neighborhood context and response
The crash comes amid a troubling run of violent calls in Avondale this year, including a March shooting that left a man dead and led to increased patrols, per previous March shooting reporting. Authorities and community groups often stress that tips and home-camera footage are crucial for moving cases forward in neighborhoods that see frequent overnight incidents.
If you have information about Delaney’s whereabouts, Crime Stoppers asks you to call 513-352-3040 or submit a tip at Crime Stoppers. Officials say investigators are following leads and are urging anyone with video or witness information to contact the Cincinnati Police Department or Crime Stoppers so detectives can follow up.
