
Saturday evening turned deadly on Chicago’s Northwest Side when a 62-year-old woman was struck by a car and later died in the Irving Park neighborhood, according to police. The collision happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Belmont Avenue. The pedestrian was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she was pronounced dead while detectives continued working the case.
As reported by FOX 32 Chicago, the driver was a 35-year-old woman behind the wheel of a Nissan when the vehicle hit the 62-year-old, according to the Chicago Police Department. Authorities shared only basic details with reporters and have not released the names of those involved. Detectives are still investigating the collision.
