A 39-year-old woman is in critical condition after being found Tuesday evening with a stab wound to the abdomen on Bradford Street in Lawrence. She was airlifted to a Boston-area hospital, and police say the case remains under active investigation after a suspect was picked up within about two hours of the initial report.
Lawrence officers were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m., where they provided first aid before the woman was taken to a nearby medical facility and then flown to a Boston-area trauma center. Investigators said they pulled private surveillance video to help identify an unnamed suspect, who was taken into custody roughly two hours after the stabbing was reported. Police also said the suspect and victim know one another and that the attack was not random, according to NBC10 Boston.
