A trip to the phone store turned bloody in Mount Eden when, police say, a woman beat a 27-year-old man with a metal pipe inside a T-Mobile on April 23, then bolted into the night.
The attack unfolded just before 7 p.m. at 221 East 170th Street, where police say the suspect walked up to the man, started arguing, and then repeatedly struck him with the pipe, leaving him with head and body lacerations. EMS rushed the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, and authorities say he is expected to recover. The suspect ran off on foot and has not been caught.
According to News12 Bronx, the woman was last seen wearing a black sweater, black pants, a green shirt and black sneakers. Police are still working to track her down.
Mount Eden Has Seen Multiple Violent Incidents This Month
The T-Mobile assault did not come out of nowhere for Mount Eden residents already rattled by recent violence. Earlier in April, a CityMD clash leaves guard stabbed, and police also responded to a double-stabbing on Mount Eden Parkway. Together, the incidents have highlighted a rough stretch for the neighborhood this month.
