A weekend fight in an Oceanside neighborhood turned deadly yesterday, leaving one man dead and another in jail on suspicion of murder, according to police. Officers were called out around 5:58 PM to the 3500 block of Buffum Drive, where they found an unconscious adult man near a home. Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The suspect, identified by police as 51-year-old Andrew Swan, was arrested and booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder.
According to FOX 5 San Diego, officers had responded to a report of a fight and discovered the victim outside a residence. Fox 5 reports that investigators say the circumstances that led up to the confrontation are still under investigation.

The Oceanside Police Department says detectives are still working to piece together what happened and have not released any additional information about a possible motive or whether a weapon was involved. Legal status
Police say Swan was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into San Diego County Jail. Being booked into jail does not necessarily mean formal charges have been filed.
