Hyde Park is about to trade its longtime neighborhood staple for a fresh take on the classic dive. Chef Jared Bennett is set to open Hi Dive Cincy in the former Dutch's space at 3378 Erie Ave, with the new bar expected to welcome its first customers next weekend. Sharing the building will be Bennett's companion project, Jarrido's, a catering and events operation that will run out of the same address.
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, Hi Dive Cincy will take over the former Dutch's location in East Hyde Park and open next weekend.
Concept and kitchen
Local 12 reports that the building will do double duty, housing Jarrido's alongside the new bar. Local 12 describes Jarrido's as "a full-service catering kitchen, private event venue and hub for chef-driven pop-up events," a setup that could let Bennett juggle late-night bar service with private events and catering from under the same roof.
About Dutch's
For years, Dutch's anchored 3378 Erie Ave as a laid-back neighborhood fixture, known for weekday lunch deals and a bottle-shop vibe, WCPO reported. The switch clears the way for a chef-driven concept in a corridor of Hyde Park that leans on steady daytime and weekend foot traffic.
What comes next
Per the Cincinnati Business Courier, Jared Bennett is listed as the owner and chef behind both Hi Dive Cincy and Jarrido's. Specific opening-day plans and operating hours were not included in the initial report, with more details expected as the planned weekend launch approaches.
