
A car crashed into a Kroger store on Wesley Chapel Road in unincorporated Decatur on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and at least one other injured, officials said. Emergency crews flooded the shopping center as they responded to the chaotic scene.
According to Atlanta News First, a DeKalb County Fire Rescue spokesperson confirmed one fatality and said two others were hurt, adding that no pedestrians were struck. The outlet reported that the crash appeared to involve two vehicles and that crews were treating multiple patients at the scene.
Emergency Response Outside the Store
As reported by WSB-TV, multiple emergency vehicles and DeKalb County police converged on the shopping center, while NewsChopper 2 captured aerial footage of the response. First responders worked to secure the building as investigators examined the damage and began looking into what led to the collision.
